About Los Romeros de Guadalupe
Please sign in to see more. This is history in the making. Our wonderful family grows more and more everyday. This year alone, 2010, we've had two new additions to the family. Herman and Vitalia would be proud.
Two sisters, Cecilia and Mariana, decided to begin documenting the genealogy of the Gonzales- Romero family. It has been a journey of at least five years so far. There is still much work to be done. Considering that we only knew the names of our great-great grandparents on both sides, we've done really great! Looking for a Flores man who'd adopted Great-grandpa Patricio threw us for a loop! All these years, we'd been told that Grandpa Patricio was a Flores and had been kidnapped by the Indians then adopted by a Romero family. It's quite possible, but we've found no evidence to indicate that it's true.
You will notice the name Martin, it is not an anglo-saxon version, but the Spanish variation with an accent on the "i". It later became "Martinez", as in "Vamos para en casa de los Martineses", a plural of Martin.
There are still more additions to be made, dates to be added, and siblings of the ancestors. The number of descendents is over 1,000 names! and addition of the still-living generations. This can only be done with your permission, of course. It remains hidden, and this is all password- protected. As photos are obtained, they will be added. So, if you have some you'd like to contribute, email me or post them on your Facebook.
In the meantime, have fun exploring our roots.
